Not only is he averaging 27.6 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 6.6 ASG, but Ja is also in MVP consideration for the 2021–2022 NBA season. In just his 3rd season in the league, Morant is currently 7th in the race for NBA scoring title. Considering his performance last night (Feb. 28, 2022) where Morant dropped a career-high 52 points, his MVP consideration is growing quickly.

The 22-year-old superstar has his Memphis Grizzlies (43–20) at 3rd place in the Western Conference, as well as 1st place in the Southwest Division. Before the season, no one was expecting this at all.

This season, Morant has 6 40+ point games, trailing only Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo. His electrifying style of play has taken the league by storm. He consistently shows off his athletic ability by his crazy poster dunks and mind-blowing athleticism. Many basketball fans compare Ja Morant’s game to a young Derrick Rose when he won MVP for the Chicago Bulls in 2011. At the time, D-Rose was extremely athletic and happened to be 22 years old, like Ja.

Recently, Ja Morant participated in his first NBA all-star game, which is the first of many, many more for him. It is incredible to see his growth and development in such a short amount of time from Murray State University making a March Madness tournament run in 2019, to where he is at now.

Since entering the league, most people involved with the NBA community knew he was going to be special, he proved that by winning NBA Rookie of the Year in 2020 and outshining Zion Williamson.
